It's official....it's a boy! We are so excited to finally know that little "nugget" now has a name, Declan Meyer Gilreath. Everyone continues to ask where this name came from. We had the hardest time finding a girls name but immediately when we both saw this name we feel in love. It's gaelic which both of our family ancestry traces back to gaelic so we chose to go with the name besides it's sooo cute! We love it and our families are getting use to it. :)
So far I am 17 weeks+ and things are going great! I am loving being pregnant and enjoying everyday to the fullest. Declan's heartbeat with the ultrasound on Friday, July 8th was between 155-160. He was very active but a very modest little guy. Took the ultrasound tech a while to discover that he had "outdoor plumbing" but was 100% positive that he was indeed a BOY! We decided to keep the news from everyone until we could get everyone together on Sunday, July 10th to announce the gender. Man...this was hard! We had several close family members and friends gather at our home Sunday night for the big reveal. We decided to confuse the parents with a little game to reveal the gender. We wrapped several different items both boy and girl related. (Which was hilarious to here one scream, "it's a boy!" " No, it's a girl!" haha.) Finally the gender was revealed by Joshua's Mom who held the box that had a infant t-shirt with the words written, "It's a boy! Declan Meyer Gilreath" Everyone was ecstatic and I enjoyed sharing the news with everyone this way! We are so happy and cannot wait to meet this little guy!!!
I, Mommy am doing great!
Favorite Foods: Watermelon (or any fruit) and pickles
Total Weight Gain: 4 lbs
My energy has come back but I still find days where I am still very tired to hold my head up.
I am feeling Declan move more and more everyday which has been an incredible feeling. (Small, subtle movements but still AMAZING)
I am feeling so blessed right now! Loving husband, fantastic kid on the way, wonderful/supportive family, amazing friends, and a God that is great!
Love the unique name, Whitney! Is it pronounced with a long or soft "e"? Congratulations on the lil guy. Much love.
