What a funny feeling...

15 weeks
Today, Tuesday June 28th around 7:25 ish this morning, I felt the baby move for the first time! :) Ok...so all the usual, " It feels like butterflies, flutters, tickles, gas, etc."... Mine didn't feel like that. More pertinent to modern, everyday sensations, it felt like a cell phone vibrating on my right side. I was bent over tying my shoes when I felt it, kind-of ignored it then proceeded to tie the other shoe. Again, same feeling. I then stopped, sat back, and felt it for a few more seconds. I then KNEW what it was... no doubt in my mind. I was in shock for a second then yelled for Joshua to tell him of my excitement!

What a funny feeling. All day I sat in anticipation of that feeling again but haven't felt anything since. Oh well... what a marvelous moment! One I will never forget! Praise God for this wonderful gift!

13+weeks and counting...

13.5 weeks

Went to the doctor last Friday with my Mom. This was the first doctor's visit that my Mom got to go to so let's just say that "Granny" got a little EXCITED. :)

We did get to the heart beat and it was 153bpm. Most have said this means "girl" with a few saying "boy." We will see. :)

We go back to the doctor July 8th for another appointment but probably won't find out the sex of the baby till the first of August. I had only gained 2 lbs since the visit in May. Dr. Lyons said everything looked great and I have finally made it past the first trimester!!!

So on to the next trimester.... I feel great! Trying to enjoy everyday.

Precious gifts for Mom/Dad/Baby Gilreath

This is a short post but just wanted to share: I received 2 gifts so far and LOVE them both. My Grandmother & Grandad gave me the Willow tree Angel. (I collect these) I love it! The UK piggy bank came from my Mom's friend, Jolene. (Which is the best gift for Baby Gilreath-boy or girl.)

WE ARE PREGNANT!!!

For most of you have already found out our exciting news! WE ARE EXPECTING!!!!

We are beyond thrilled with this next step in our lives. This is definitely an answered prayer for our family. Joshua and I have been through a lot the last 3 years of marriage but we are SO excited with the thought of adding to our family.

I decided to go ahead and start a blog for any of you who are interested in keeping up to date with what's going on with TEAM GILREATH.

We are due on or around December 17th 2011! (6 more months) We went to the doctor for the first time on May 9th and we were able to hear the babies heart beat and see the little "nugget." This for me and Joshua made the thought very real now. AMAZING how at 8 weeks we could already hear the little heart beating fast and see the little heart flutter. I stand in AWE of God's greatest creation! I will return to the doctor on June 10th for my monthly checkup and continue to pray for the health and safety of this child. WOW... for future Mom's this is a lot of pressure to make sure that "little nugget" continues to grow and get the proper nutrients it should.

I have been told I have been one of the lucky pregnant ladies...no morning sickness for me in all 12 weeks. Now...I won't lie. I have had a little nausea here and there but basically have felt FANTASTIC! I would not say I was "craving" anything until Joshua brought it to my attention that I ate 7 dill pickles in one night. I also crave sweet fresh fruit! I was exhausted for quite some time but feel like my energy is now slowly returning. My 8 o'clock bedtimes have now moved closer to 10pm. :) I have been blessed so far with this pregnancy.

I will continue to keep you all posted but for now we would just like to continue to ask for prayers for this "little nugget". We are overwhelmed by the amount of love shown since we have announced the news. Thank you all...from the bottom of our hearts! God is good and he works in wonderful ways!
